When moving from out-of-state, obtain your Florida license first, then vehicle insurance & finally register your vehicle. When applying for a first time driver's license, bring your out-of-state driver's license & your Social Security number. New residents need to pass only a visual examination only if they have a valid driver's license from another State. An appointment for all those getting drivers's licenses is recommended. A new license cost $20 & is valid six years. License renewal is $15 & replacement cost is $10.
